Dental Procedures that use needles
People that feel uneasy or are concerned about the idea of oral needles
Patients that feel oral pain during their dental treatment
Individuals that miss or delay dental appointments due to anxiety
Dentist are also constantly stressed and burnt out at their workplace
Unfortunately, fear of pain leads to fewer visits to the dental office and more last-minute cancellations, which only complicate oral health issues and make it more difficult and expensive to treat. A vicious cycle is consequently formed.
During casual chat in 2015, Dentroid cofounders Omar and Alaa (a dentists and an engineer) marvelled at this conundrum and decided to do something about it; people deserve better and must do better!
They found that despite best nerve-recking efforts by dentist and remarkable courage by patients, almost everything in the dental clinic seemed to exude anxiety by design, from the terrifying needles to the noisy drills to the suffocating sprays, and the list goes on!
In response, and after daunting soul searching sessions, deep research and a ton of coffee, Omar and Alaa launched Dentroid in 2017 to pioneer a distinctive human-centric approach rather than the tooth-centric approach many others have been following and clinging to.
Guided by this founding principle, Dentroid has been harnessing the synergetic power of photonics and robotics to offer alternatives to needles, drills and sprays, and hence help unleash the full potential of dentistry for patients and dentists alike.
